Understanding business fundamentals is key to making sound financial and investment decisions. To help members better understand the cement industry, Millennium Mams hosted a Cement Conclave in 2019.
Cement Conclave 2019. Cement giants of North and South India, Shree Cement and Ramco Cements, graced the panel, with Mr. Hari Mohan Bangur of Shree Cement and Mr. A. V. Dharmakrishnan, CEO of Ramco Cements. Mr. Dharmakrishnan expected robust demand from the infrastructure push by Centre and State governments, while Mr. Bangur felt North India might see a demand-supply mismatch over the next three years.
The duo answered questions on capacity expansion, branding cement as a commodity, government interventions, de-risking the business and leadership. Though giants of the same industry, they learn from each other and share mutual respect, and members came away with lessons on industry, leadership and humility.
Cement Conclave 2020. Our first ever online Cement Conclave hosted four leaders of the industry: Mr. A. V. Dharmakrishnan (CEO, Ramco Cements), Mr. Nilesh Narwekar (CEO, JSW Cement), Mr. Mahendra Singhi (MD & CEO, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd.) and Mr. Sanjay Mathur (Chief Special Initiatives Officer, UltraTech Cement Ltd.). They shared their views on the industry’s prospects post-Covid, in the short and the long run, along with the growth journeys of their companies.
